Title: Hit and Run
Author: Lori Matthews
Publisher: Wild Coyote Press
Series: Callahan Security, Book #3
Publication Date: July 4, 2020
Hit and Run is an entertaining contemporary romantic suspense book by Lori Matthews. Gage Callahan's recent assignment with Callahan Security was a complete disaster from the start. After searching through Europe, he discovered Dani Pierce was actually hiding out in Alaska. Dani is an extremely talented computer programmer that works as a hacker, and she's in deadly trouble.
As readers, we meet Gage as he arrives in Alaska to find Dani just in time for introductions before they are on the run. The exhilarating suspense starts from the beginning with an unknown source tracking down and attempting to kill Dani for her new computer software. While Gage was hired to protect her, neither one trusts each other. Of course, lust and attraction gets in the way, and they continue to learn and maybe even build trust while trying desperately to stay alive.
Even as the third book in the Callahan Security series, it still reads as a intriguing standalone novel. While it's not necessary to read the previous two books in the series to follow along or enjoy this book, it's recommended for those interested in the reading about each Callahan brother and their love stories (also romantic suspense books).
Hit and Run is thrilling and interesting, and it's geared toward fans of modern romantic suspense stories.
