Katie's Highlander, by Maeve Greyson is an entertaining paranormal romance that mixes historical highlanders with contemporary times.
The MacDara clan is tasked with the honor of guarding the sacred Heartstone. Due to extreme difficulties and violence in 10th century Scotland, the MacDara family is transported to the 21st century in North Carolina.
Ramsey MacDara, a former Highland warrior, is now working at a Scottish historical theme park called Highland Life and Legends, which his parents and siblings own and operate while concealing their ancient past and continuing to protect the secret ancient Heartstone.
While living in the 21st century, Ramsey keeps to himself as a loner, until he meets Katie Jenson, who is on a six-month sabbatical from her university job. Katie is determined to live life to the fullest, which is her father's dying request for her. Ramsey and and Katie are attracted to each other, which leads interesting adventures between the modern-day Highlander and devoted archaeologist.
With a mix of modern day and historic highlander romance, it's an interesting story with captivating characters and humorous interactions, as well as with paranormal activities intermixed.

Since it's the third book in the Highlander Protector series, it's ideal to start with the first book, due to the plentiful secondary characters mentioned. Plus, it's a highly enjoyable book series!
Katie's Highlander is geared towards those who enjoy reading time travel novels in which mixes contemporary, paranormal, and highlander romances.
