Wolf Hunger, by Paige Tyler is an captivating paranormal suspense romance and part of the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team book series.
Due to a tragic incident, Max Lowry almost died at the age of eighteen, yet he became an alpha werewolf instead. Now, he's living in Texas and working as a SWAT officer, along with with fellow werewolf shifters and pack mates.
During a work event, Max meets Lana Mason - a mostly vegetarian werewolf. However, Max soon realizes that Lana is unaware that she is actually a werewolf shifter, too. Even though they both act on their immediate attraction, Lana is hesitant about a long-term relationship due to her possible job options across the States and around the world. Max is still dealing with his past...his family had a rough life, while dealing with his abusive and alcoholic father. Plus, Lana's father is one of Max's bosses at work.
As the story unfolds, Max and Lana are forced to deal with dangerous hunters tracking and trying to kill them (and other werewolf shifters), while figuring our their new relationship.
Since it's the seventh book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series, it's recommended to start with the first book, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order. I was introduced to this series with the sixth book, titled Wolf Hunt, which encouraged me to read the entire SWAT series.
Wolf Hunger is recommended and geared towards those who enjoy reading paranormal action-suspense romances, particularly stories involving military alpha werewolves.
Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
