Lone Rider, by Lindsay McKenna is a heartfelt contemporary western romance with a little suspense intermixed into the story.
Harper Sutton is currently working at the Bar C Ranch, along with several other former military veterans, and he's also training to be a professional paramedic. He's dealing with PTSD. Tara Dalton can relate, since she's just returned to the States after her military service, and she's intensely dealing with PTSD.
Tara and Harper are new housemates at the ranch, as well as working together. She's also focused on her photography as a job, especially of animals at the ranch and in nature. Even though they are busy with their multiple jobs, Harper and Tara are attracted to each other and start to develop a relationship. However, Tara's former stalker and kidnapper is out of prison, and he's interested in her again.
Since it's the fifth book in Wind River Valley series, it's recommended to start with the first book in order to meet all the secondary characters and follow the overarching ranch storyline.
Lone Rider is geared towards those who enjoy reading modern ranch romances.
Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This sounds like a perfect romance! Some drama and intrigue mixed with a nice pairing. I love ranch storylines, so I might have to pick up the first book in this series. Great review!
