Book Review: Trade Your Cares for Calm

Trade Your Cares for Calm, by Max Lucado is a highly recommended inspirational book, which focuses on how to be free from the worries that weigh you down.

The author shares biblical wisdom, inspirational stories, and practical advice on how to help manage concerns and worries. According to the Introduction, Lucado wrote, "If you've been trembling on a tightrope of fear and worry, may I suggest the best solution ever? A trade. An exchange: your cares for God's calm.... As you ready to worry less and trust more? The path to peace is paved with prayer."

This book has ten chapters, which are titled as Face Fear and Anxiety, Walk Away from Worry, Conquer Control, See God's Goodness, Receive God's Mercy, Get Rid of Guilt, Silence "If Only", Catch Calm, Practice Gratitude, and Pray His Peace. Each chapter is divided into several one-page or two-pages segments to easily incorporate this book into your current daily devotional time or to start a daily personal prayer and devotional time. Also, there are additional sections, including Introduction, Conclusion, Sources, and Notes.

Trade Your Cares for Calm features lovely full-color nature photographs interspersed through this book, which is a wonderful resource for all age groups.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Note: I received this book from Book Look Bloggers, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
