Deciduous by Michael Devendorf is an intense and suspenseful story. Sienna is essentially living a nightmare. Ten months ago, she was home with her daughter, when she died in a devastatingly tragic accident. And then her son also dies tragically at their home.
With all the recent tragedy, she is overwhelmed with grief and decides to move into their treehouse to connect with nature and especially with her deceased children, since the treehouse is where her son died. However, a tree image starts destroys her thoughts and affect the memories of her children, and her living nightmare continues as anxiety and negativity continue to lead her on a dark journey. Eventually, she begins to uncover secrets with severe danger.
Throughout this emotional story, there are flashbacks to learn about their family life. With descriptive writing, the author switches viewpoints between Sienna, her husband Jordan, and their neighbor Yvonne.
Deciduous is the author's debut novel, and it's a captivating and thrilling book packed with drama and deep secrets.
