My Scot, My Surrender, by Amalie Howard and Angie Morgan is an entertaining historical romance novel with captivating characters.
Lady Sorcha Maclaren is determined to remain independent and focus on her fighting skills, despite her upcoming arranged marriage to an evil man. In her desperate attempt to avoid that marriage, she pursues a stranger.
Brandt Montgomery Pierce is originally from Scotland, yet grew up in England without knowledge of his birthplace. When he meets Sorcha, Brandt is immediately attracted and becomes unexpectedly protective of her. Their relationship is intense, as they deal with plenty of drama in difficult situations.
Even though it's the fourth book in the Lords of Essex series, it's considered a standalone book.
My Scot, My Surrender is geared towards those who enjoy reading historical romances, particularly stories involving highlanders.
Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
