Book Review: Cowboy Up

Cowboy Up, by Harper Sloan is an emotional and dramatic contemporary romance, and it's the third book in the Coming Home series.

Caroline Michaels is a delightfully quirky bookshop owner with two highly entertaining best friends. One evening, she steps outside her normally quiet and shy comfort zone, as she pursues a one-night stand with a stranger.

A few months later, Caroline encounters her one-night stand at a local party, and she discovers that he's actually Clayton Davis, a childhood acquaintance and her former childhood crush. After their re-acquaintance, Caroline and Clayton continue their romantic relationship in an emotional and dramatic fashion.

The story is focused on family and relationships with drama and suspense intermixed, as well as a primary emphasis on the secondary characters of Caroline's best friends and Clayton's family. Due to the extensive secondary characters, it's recommended to start with the first book in the Coming Home series, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order.

Cowboy Up is geared towards those who enjoy reading contemporary romances.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
