Book Review: Habits of the Heart

Habits of the Heart: 365 Daily Exercises for Living Like Jesus, by Katherine J. Butler is an encouraging devotional book that focuses on training your heart through spiritual habits.

This pocket-size book contains 365 daily devotions with a new theme for each week. Each daily devotional includes scripture passages and devotional text to meditate upon daily. The author recommends readers to be open, be patient, and be expectant throughout the year. Plus, the inside front and back covers are quite lovely and colorful.

In the Introduction, the author shares, "Consider this book a training program to develop habits of the heart that will draw you into a deep and lasting relationship with God. This simple guide focuses on one essential aspect each week and provides daily exercises to make it become a habit."

Habits of the Heart is geared towards various ages, from young adults to older generations. This book is easily incorporated into current personal devotional time or utilized to start spending quiet time with God each day, as well as quick reference for specific topics.

Note: I received this book from Tyndale Blog Network, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
