Book Review: The Wisdom of God

The Wisdom of God: Letting His Truth and Goodness Direct Your Steps, by A. W. Tozer is a inspirational book, which was complied and edited by James L. Snyder from the author's previous sermons on wisdom.

According to the Introduction, "To know Christ is to know God's wisdom. The more we understand this, the more we will be able to see the hand of God in our life moving us in the direction He wants us to go. The amazing thing to me is that all the sermons that make up this book were preached in the early 1960s, but the message is relevant to Christianity today."

It's divided into twenty-three chapters, which are titled as The Hebrew Doctrine of Wisdom, Christ, the Wisdom of God, The Effect of Poured-Out Wisdom, Lessons from the Doctrine of Eternal Wisdom, Christianity Flows Out of God's Wisdom, The Root of Divine Wisdom, The True Essence of Divine Wisdom, How to Access the Wisdom of God, The Manifestation of God's Wisdom, God's Wisdom Is Poured Out on His Creation, The Benefits of Eternal Wisdom, Divine Wisdom Illuminates the Face of Christ, The Pursuit of Excellent Wisdom, The Focus of Excellent Wisdom, The Practicality of God's Wisdom, The Warning of Divine Wisdom, Moral Wisdom vs. Divine Wisdom, Turning from Moral Folly to Wisdom, The Voice of Wisdom Calling Us Back, The Voice of Wisdom Calls for a Choice, The Delivering Power of Divine Wisdom, God's Wisdom Is Justified in the Redeemed, and God's Wisdom Is Absolute and Unqualified (Not Limited). Plus, there's an Introduction and A Closing Prayer conclusion.

This book has never before been available in print, and it features various quotes and scripture verses, while focusing on Tozer's previous sermons on wisdom.

The Wisdom of God is a resource for individuals and groups interested in focusing on a scripture view regarding wisdom.

Note: I received this book from Bethany House Publishers, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
