Book Review: Cape Cod and the Islands

Cape Cod and the Islands: Where Beauty and History Meet, by Kathryn Kleekamp is an aesthetically pleasing scenery book.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, as well as the nearby islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, are the primary focus of this book with fifty oil paintings depicting landscapes and seascapes, as well as historic photographs. This book is informative with historical details and behind-the-scenes information regarding the paintings.

This book includes the following chapter titles: The Cape Cod Landscape, Beginnings, Establishing Towns, Harvesting the Land, Harvesting the Sea, Ships and Shipmasters, Safeguarding Those at Sea, Realizing Dreams, The Lure of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and Preserving the Beauty of the Cape and Islands.

Cape Cod and the Islands is geared towards various ages, from young adults to older generations, especially recommended for those interested in scenery paintings and travel.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
