Book Review: Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible

The Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible is a New Living Translation (NLT) version of the Bible. It focuses on memorizing scriptures and learning more about the Bible, as well as providing access to scripture memory songs.

According to the back cover copy, "The Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible encourages kids and parents alike to read God's Word and hide it deep within their hearts in ways that are fun for the whole family!"

Even though it's a New Living Translation (NLT) version of the Bible, there are 100 core verses presented in three biblical translations: NLT, New International Version (NIV), and King James Version (KJV).

Primarily, this Bible consists of the Old and New Testaments, and there are additional sections to assist with reading and studying the Bible. These sections include the following: A Note to Readers, User's Guide, Ten Hid-It Helpers, Thematic Memory Verse Plans, Who Is God, Who Is Jesus Christ, Who Is the Holy Spirit, Great Verses about Christian Character, Great Verses about Christian Calling, Great Verses about Christian Hope, Great Verses about Sin and Salvation, Core 100 Verse Checklist, Challenge Verse Checklist, Core 100 Digging Deeper, Bonus Digging Deeper, Topical Memory Verse Finder, Great Bible Passages to Memorize, Great Bible Stories to Know and Share, Song Index 1: By Age Range, and Song Index 2: Musical Styles.

One bonus feature is the Bible Book Introductions, in which "each book of the Bible starts with a brief book introduction. These will help you understand where each Bible book came from, when it was written, and what it is about," according to page A10.

Another feature is the Core 100 Verses, which is explained on page A10, as stated, "In this Bible, 100 core verses were chosen for you...and they are set as your primary focus" to memorize, explore and apply, pray, dig deeper, and sing songs. Each core scripture verse is highlighted by providing it in three Biblical translations (NLT, NIV, and KJV), as well as featuring additional notes, prayers, directory lines for more discussion, and a digital code to access 100 free scripture memory songs.

 

The Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible is designed to encourage reading and memorizing scriptures, as well as a deeper understanding of what is being read. This wonderful resource is geared towards pre-teens and teenagers, yet age group would benefit from reading this Bible.
