Book Review: Just Like Jesus Devotional

Just Like Jesus Devotional: A Thirty Day Walk with the Savior, by Max Lucado is a thirty-day devotional book, which is an accompaniment to Lucado's book, titled Just Like Jesus: A Heart Like His.  However, it's not necessary to read both books at the same time.

According to the Introduction, the author shares, "What if, for one day, Jesus were to become you?  What if, for twenty-four hours, Jesus wakes up in your bed, walks in your shoes, lives in your house, assumes your schedule?  Your boss becomes his boss, your mother becomes his mother, your pains become his pains.  With one exception, nothing about your life changes....  Only one change occurs.  What if, for one day, Jesus lives your life with his heart?  Your heart gets the day off, and your life is led by the heart of Christ."

Also, in the Introduction, Lucado states, "Let me invite you to join me for the next thirty days.  We will be examining the heart of Jesus together.  Since God's plan is to help us become more and more like his Son, it makes sense that we should spend time getting to know Jesus' heart.  Because God wants to give you a heart like Jesus."

This highly recommended book has thirty chapters spread across thirty days.  Each day includes a scripture verse and devotional text, as well as the following section titles: Thinking, Hearing, Reflecting, and Speaking.

Just Like Jesus Devotional may easily be added to your current personal devotional time, as well as utilized in a small group or Bible study.  This enjoyable book is geared towards various ages, from young adults to older generations.
