Book Review: Same Kind of Different As Me for Kids

Same Kind of Different As Me for Kids: Everybody Can Help Somebody is a children's book written and illustrated by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Previously, it was published as Everybody Can Help Somebody.

In about thirty pages, this book portrays the true story of Denver Moore and Ron Hall in an easy-to-read manner for children. With every page turn, there are interesting illustrations accompanying this compelling story.

In the introduction, Ron Hall shared, "For nearly ten years Denver and I traveled across American telling our story and hoping to make a difference in the way people view and treat the homeless.... We finished this book shortly before Denver left earth to join Miss Debbie in heaven. This wise and godly man had these final words for the children: ‘Tell them nobody can help everybody, but everybody can help somebody!’ Denver’s dream and my hope is that through the pages of this book, your children will be filled with compassion and with the desire to make a difference in the world around them by helping somebody.”

Same Kind of Different As Me for Kids is geared towards young readers, particularly ages six to ten. However, this book is a wonderful resource for all ages! This children's book is based on a 2006 adult non-fiction book: Same Kind of Different As Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent, which is also recommended.

"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." Proverbs 19:17

Note: I received this book from Book Look Bloggers, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
