Book Review: Earth Psalms

Earth Psalms: Reflections on How God Speaks Through Nature, by Francine Rivers with Karin Stock Buursma is a lovely devotional book.

This book is designed as a weekly devotional, which spans throughout an entire year with 52 devotionals. Each chapter includes the devotional text to read and contemplate, as well scripture verses, quotes, hymns, and nature photographs. Also, each chapter includes the following sections: Reflect, Apply, and Connect with God.

In the Introduction, Rivers shares, "Writers of the Bible taught lessons through all aspects of the natural world, including plants and animals, reptiles and insects.... God is an artist, and the earth and the universe are His canvas.... Karin and I hope this book will encourage you to look at the world God created and search for the subtle messages that will expand your love for Him and your desire for a closer relationship with Him."

Earth Psalms: Reflections on How God Speaks Through Nature is an encouraging, challenging, and comforting book, which is geared towards women of all ages, particularly young adults to older generations.

Note: I received this book from Tyndale Blog Network, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
